Making A Come Back After Many Months of Creating

Here I am at  now 77 years old and taking an adventurous trip with Picasso.  I have been doing a series of 

Picasso like art pieces. I hope to continue posting my progress.

 Sorry I have been away indefinently  while creating new art pieces .  Cant promise that I will do any better; but I will try to post a little more of what I have been up to.  ENJOY

New Abstract Art

 

 Finally settled on background for this painting.  Been waiting a while for the inspiration to finish this piece.  I will now add a leveling agent to the piece and hopefully call it done.  What do you think?

Whew!! Finally made it back......

 Back to this blog.  I shut my quilt blog down and am dedicating all my time here.  Wonder if it will make any difference.  Well, we will see.  

I have all the equipment need to do a video; but I have been procrastinating.  Think I am a bit "gun shy". 

I have been still trying to make some collages and here are a few that I recently did.

AWOL - Making a Comback

 A lot has happened since the last time I posted here.  I am really ashamed; but LIFE took a front seat and the BLOG had to take a back seat.

Since I was last here my dearly beloved husband of 28 years went home to be with the Lord in July 2020.  I am just getting a feeling of going on with the blog.

I have made a few art journal pages and am now currently working on a "sewing themed" writing journal.

Here are some of the things I have been doing since late last year.  I make no promised; but it is my desire to be back here posting more consistently ; which will be part of my therapy.  These are pieces of collage art that I am doing with Margarete Miller with her #take 3 group.  Enjoy

Making a Comeback

I've been away from this Blog longer than I would have liked to; but life and all that comes with living sometimes take first chair. 
I hope to post and let you all see some of the books and book art that I am doing in the few minutes I can grab here and there.  Please let me know that you have come by so I can be encouraged to push myself harder to continue making art and keeping up this blog.

Small collage works of art is one of my new

art journals.  I purchased a spiral bound mixed media journal in which I decided to venture into making small collage pieces to fill its pages.
I am working on a canvas fabric covered and embroidered cover that I intend to glue to the back and add beads, and a belt that I have transformed with embroidery and fabric to coordinate with the back.  Here are pictures of the journal in its natural state, embroidered cover and belt before it is glued to the journal; also the collage piece is #1 in the journal.

Book Art is becoming

my main focus and quilting has become secondary for me.  It is a lot easier and faster to paste a few papers down than sewing pieces of fabric together in a hurry; but not anymore enjoyable for me. I still love quiltmaking and continue to sew pieces of fabric together to invent new and more interesting patterns.  I hope to keep this blog going  and be more informative of my journaling as much as possible.
 The first picture is of a journal I made by painting Fredrix pre-primed canvas with acrylic paints and stamping images from my home made stamps.  The signatures are hand sewn in and there is a button and beads strung with wax thread.  The second picture is a page from one of my old art journals. Mixed Media, collages and basic picture

art have all been a part of my art journals.  I have even started painting on canvas, and making my own stretched canvas pieces.  I have loved painting acrylic pieces on heavy watercolor papers and adding collage pieces and then adhering them to already prepared canvas wrapped boards. I'm all over the place; but time has put constraints on posting here.Here are some of the pieces I've done since I last posted here.  Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

Altering Books is still

one of my favorite things to do at this time.  I have several altered art journals in progress and am aways looking for another opportunity to work in them. Here are some of the pages I done since the last time I posted here.  If no one reads this I can't blame them because I am no longer an avid blogger.  I wonder if I should just give up trying to be a blogger.  Enjoy the pages I have been creating since the last time I posted.
